Process notes

The fawn's ears were painted first, before the face, because they carry the whole expression. Everything else — the oversized eyes, the small open mouth — had to live up to them.

The body is a single pale wash with the spots dropped in while it was still damp, so they bloom slightly at the edges like real markings.
